The Iron Boot Scrapers took to the streets in 2008 and soon became the great white sharks of the busking bands; the unfortunate consequence of this is that we got so many gigs that we can rarely busk now, something that is spiritually close to us; the impromptu rolling up and playing, the spontaneity of performance and the genuine gratitude and appreciation of the passers by; all in the open air and sunshine. Truly the most honest of performance.

Using the instrumentation of the 1920's, but we seek to embrace the attitude of those early musicians and to play the cutting edge music of this present day, and not to play the ossified music of one hundred years ago; however still using the thump of the sousaphone, twang of banjo, drums and other authentic instrumentation of that past time; all with uplifting vocal harmonies.
